even after i have taken results of the most impt exam in my life so far, i still feel the same like i would during normal tests and exams - i could have done better.
i got ACC, A for Econs and C's for Maths and Phy. GP is A2. quite 'emotionless' grades to get. i never felt really happy or sad over my grades before, but perhaps its cos i never cared so much about my performance in sch exams. but this time its cos im neither that good nor that bad.
my first SMS received was from my Maths Tuition teacher, Miss Chee, who asked for my grades. it must have been disappointing for her to have her students getting 'C'. Nobody who attends her tuition gets below a C, but those getting C are very few too. and now i make up one of the few.
i expected to get a B but i must have deserved a C. im that kind of really bad attitude maths student who draws and snores in lectures, doesn't do homework and gets between 0-5 marks for tests. i know im really suck in pure maths and i let it discourage me from doing any of it until the last few mths, which obviously wasn't enough. my interest in stats probably saved me from getting even lower. but a 3 grade improve from prelim maths (AO) is considered good le.
remember the rate of change question involving this cone thing? I used the 4/3 pi r cube formula which probably cost me 6 marks. in school grading, 6 marks will surely strengthen a C grade, regardless of whether its 55 marks or 59 marks. 6 marks is likely to have pushed me towards the right end of the bell curve also. that is a farking flop that i deeply regret. its a really expensive lesson to learn...
Mr Yeo approached me just after i received my results. when vincent and i told him our grades, both of us could immediately see the obvious disappointment on his face. i don't feel i deserve a C for phy. if i get back my paper i'd want to see where did i cock up. issit cos of one big mistake or alot of small little mistakes? was i careless?
i admitted to mr yeo that i studied the least for phy when he questioned. its not cos im proud of my ability at it but cos i felt my maths was too weak and econs needed content.
Mr Neo indirectly told me i've got an A for econs while i was still having lunch at noon. later i found out that he phoned my form teacher to ask for our econs grades. he mus have been very happy cos our class got 5 ppl get A and a lot of B's too.
i was mentally prepared to get a B. i wouldn't have gotten an A on my own, so i'd rather say that Mr Neo deserved to have his students he groomed scoring quality grades. it is really worth his time spent on giving those grp consultation time slots.
i don't read books, don't read newspapers(not till recently), prefer to converse in chinese, don't watch english shows...but blogging helps!? blogging is like doing paper 1. transfer thoughts into texts. reading blog like paper 2. transfer text into thoughts. lol...maybe...??? or maybe juz lucky for GP. (but i dun even blog in proper english anyway)
ard half of the ppl who i know the grades have 2 As and above(for A lvl subs)...woot? weijie got 3, xm got 2, zq got 3, shawn(tan) got 3, vivien got 4, shawn(yip) got 2, kw got 2, wq got 2, weijing got 2, xy no need ask?!
i want to know srjc ranking this year but i don't know how. i wish we not last again. but regardless of what rank those who know me always know that i insist that srjc is the best jc and i tell that to my sec sch frens and colleagues. "its the teachers and the people."
if i get accepted into the course that i want, i'd quickly forget about my grades. the last straw is to join engineering. but preferbly i get into business. i don't feel much about today. perhaps a tad of disappointment, but really mild.
