i miss CH and my go-home-buddy weijing.
BECOS I've got to cover their WORK! damn. where are the new replacements?
lol.
anyway really missing some good company at work. today we were down to 7 ppl only. i was darting frm table to table with the nb/ps and backlog and helping chris to do sealing. by 8.30pm i was looking at the numbers on the listing while sealing boxes and i simply fell asleep sitting upright although i really tried to stay awake becos its only 1/2 hr left to tahan. never had a drink since dunno when till chris and xm told me to take a break.
so let me tell you how peculiar today was. i bet CH would be especially interested.
it started out as a rainy day. oh yeah, not like it rains every morning.
then, on our way back during lunch, we saw an old man stuck in a long kang near somerset MRT. he was sorta entrenched inside, barely being able to have a steady footing on the ground above a drain. xm and i 'rescued' him out amidst a crowd of onlookers. one woman was particularly concerned and called an ambulance.
he was feeble, and i had to slowly pull him out becos his arms were so small i might cause a fracture if i pulled too hard or something. his legs were wobbling.
after that incident we couldn't come up with a conclusion : how did that old man land up at that place?...and why he didn't seem too glad to be rescued?
the afternoon saw MORE drama as Chong Jhee does his daily super screw and mess it up stint that incurred the wrath of many. i'd say that he probably cost Singapore 0.005% of its productivity today.
becos he messed up his own program that stalled the New Business, Policy Servicing, Operations and our own department for hours.
then, at 4pm, he mysteriously disappeared without saying a word. my colleagues who saw him leave said he did it in a hurry. CJ's boss, LL, said he never told him to report back to Kodak office.
CJ, on the other hand, claimed that he needed to take something from the office. he promised XM he'll be back by 7pm, although Jenn and LL COMMANDED him to return back to the office immediately.
he didn't return at 7pm, although some hsbc staff had stayed back to wait for him. i think that really sucked. horrible. most popular comments on CJ from my colleagues :
"tell him go die la!"
LL and Dawn had a hearty conversation just 1 metre away from me in the afternoon over CJ's performance. XM and I even shared the pizza incident with them. apparently LL couldn't sack CJ becos its hard to find a replacement immediately.
that aside, im quite encouraged by Lee Lin's acheivements. she has a CCD in her A lvls and took arts and social science in Uni. now she's at the managerial level before reaching her 30s. (ok, she didn't directly reveal to us her age lol)
but Dawn on the other hand is sick. from what i hear, she seems to like studying a lot. she looks like a pro mugger to me. from HCJC. now assistant manager in hsbc insc.
However, it seemed that A's and B's are very common nowadays.
When XM said he scored AAB, both LL and Dawn went : "wow, nowadays so easy to score A's and B's?"
LOL! totally disregard XM's intelligence. but perhaps that's true also.
janice has temporarily left the job to go on a holiday today, so there's only me xm chris vivien sj and rachel.
we used to have 12 people.
i never thought it would be this bad - we're still supposed to meet alot of expectations : quotas, deadlines...
did i ever mention to you that HSBC should just do the data archiving themselves instead of outsourcing to Kodak?
i heard that first hand from Dawn today. its pretty common sensical : HSBC gives a project to Kodak to complete. and Kodak knows a fook about HSBC documents. HSBC spents time teaching, sharing, training, QA, rectifying, and in the end its really loses meaning - especially when ppl quit and we train and retrain and update - its alot of pdtivity loss. i mean if you were there to see it for yurself it doesn't take much to realise.
final week. i'll try to do more.
